"Unto
Us a Child is born… to us a Son is given." These words from the
prophet Isaiah promised that one day the Earth would be graced by a visit
from its Creator. As the Apostle Paul reminds us, "the mystery of
godliness is great: He appeared in a body,…"
In the hurry
of Christmas in America, we too often forget that "a Son is
given".
Despite all
the cultural contradictions and trappings, this is still an excellent time
to consider what we have received….and in response, what we have given.
God gave us His Son, and He speaks to us through His Word as revealed by
His Spirit. Our Lord Jesus tells us that much will be required of the one
to whom much has been given. So we understand that Christmas is about what
God gave…and what we received….and what is expected of us in return.
You have
given generously…despite the daily reminders of the weak economy.
Equipped
with your gifts, we have kept the radio station on the air, 24 hours a
day. The station continues to beam a message of hope on the public
airwaves - freely witnessing to the Power of Christ around the clock with
Bible teaching programs and Christ-centered music.
Pray with us
please that the Lord Jesus will be Glorified through the broadcasts each
day….and thank Him for the opportunity we have at this station to point
people to the One who originated gift-giving.
Each day
when we open the mail, there are basic facts that we remember -
the
gifts are given to the ministry as to Christ Himself
- the gifts
are often sacrificial
- that we
are stewards of what you entrust to us
which brings
us back to our original thought…."Unto us a Son is given…."
(Isa.9:6)
And that one
gift changed everything.
